    Greetings Fat Pitcher...

Hi.. I'm sure I speak for everyone regarding the help you provide which is greatly appreciated, and I had a few questions...

How was the injuries reworked for this year? Do on field injuries occur from being overly aggressive i.e diving etc?

As for the bullpen, can you view the pitchers actually warming up, or is it just a menu you can view until you can see that they are ready?

Are the salaries still based on a points structure or in dollar figures?

Lastly, do players have any type of loyalty towards their team during free agency? Thanks again.

Injuries are caused specific events, but I don't know the complete list. I saw Grissom get a concussion on a play where he caught a routine fly ball. Not the most believable thing, but I'm told that they happen at a realistic rate and that the "personal problems" injury no longer happens during a play (though it's still alive and kicking in simulation!).

Can't see the pitchers warming up. Many fields have enclosed bullpens, which posed a greater problem than we had time to obliterate. You'll be able to see info on who's warming up in various menus and "hot keys" and dialogs that pop up to inform and remind.

Salaries are points. Licensing requirement. Not going to change anytime soon, I'm afraid.

Player loyalty is another one of those improvements that will sneak in under most people's radar. Players become more loyal with positive events (lots of playing time, winning, playoffs, good contracts, years spent with team, and a bunch of other stuff I don't remember right now). Good loyalty makes them easier to re-sign (don't have to pay them as much), makes them more likely to want to re-sign (less likely to test their worth on the free agent market--some players will be greedy and refuse to re-sign at all unless you give them way more than they are worth, high loyalty makes that less likely), makes them less prone to minor injuries (i.e. they play through them), and gives them a small ratings bonus. They also ask you not to trade them and get upset when you try anyway (although if you're successful in trading them, it doesn't matter a whole lot, because they're not your problem anymore). Player loyalty drops with benching and demotion and losing and being shopped around and some other stuff, don't have the complete list here. Disloyal players may demand to be traded, completely refuse to re-sign with you regardless how much you offer them, more likely to become greedy and test the f.a. market, and so on.

In addition to that, CPU teams have loyalty to certain players. That loyalty is based on things like player ratings, player performance, team success, how long the player's been around, how much they are paying him compared to what he's worth, how expendable he is, etc. The CPU will have a harder time letting go of its "franchise" players, but will bite if you offer them a deal much too good to pass up. The CPU will actively shop players it no longer wants, and you'll get messages to that effect on your news screen. You can often pick these players up at bargain prices.

Thanks Pitcher... I also post at Thunderpuck and Chris @ Treyarch is a frequent poster. Hopefully companies will realize that it helps a great deal towards the sale of games having qualified individuals answer questions. Thanks for the help, and hopefully next year, we'll get to play online. peace
