I play with the White Sox. And the first 2 teams I played were the yankees and the Red Sox. A perfect explaination for the bully footin I recieved. But then agian, I played Texas and the same thing happens.
I noticed a huge diffrence and pro and allstar. I doubt I'll ever play MVP, and HOF , yea the hell right.
    Great game, good *** whippins.

yea, I droped the CPU baserunning and Feilder speed down one notch, they seemd to run down everything. And I upped the pitch count, foul balls and my hitting slider. Also dropped the CPUs hitting and Power slider down a notch. But to no help. They still beat my ***. I dont wanna drop it as far where it feels like I'm cheating them.

            Re: HH-This game hates me.

I'm 2-0 so far with the Cardinals. Won 8-7 in the 9th inning my first game and Woody pitched a stellar game and I won 8-1. This is against the Brewers, so I'm not overconfident yet.

I'm playing on All-Star defaults so far and the game is pretty accurate right out of the box. I'm seeing new things every game. Pujols hit a bomb to LF and it was neat watching him admire the blast. I've seen runners slide and miss the base, slide around a tag, players arguing with the umps, etc..

For me it's a great improvement over 2003, for some reason I couldn't get into that game.

Take your time and think baseball. I know it sounds easy, but you have to pitch players like Bonds and Giles carefully, walk batters when the count is 3-0 and a good contact batter is up, throw to cutoff men, etc.. I'm always guilty of at least 1 bonehead play each game that extended an inning.

Play exhibition to get a 'feel' for the game first and use batting practice to get a feel for the different pitches.

                Re: HH-This game hates me.

Hang with it... it gets better. I'm no expert, but here's some stuff I use to good effect.

I play MVP, default sliders... for now anyway

                Batting
I almost never swing at the first pitch - only if the pitcher is really lay'n em in there on the first pitch and is consistently getting ahead in the count do I think about taking a hack.
After the first pitch I look at the count and bat accordingly:

1-0) I will sit on pitch grooved down the middle, if its a strike but not grooved I wont swing.
                2-0) Same as above
2-1) Will swing at any strike
3-1) Wait on a grooved pitch
0-1) Will swing at any strike
0-2) Will swing at any strike
3-2) Will swing at any strike

This approach will draw you some walks, but more importantly it will put you into some hitter's counts where the pitcher will have to throw you a good pitch to hit. Don't swing just because it's a strike - more than likely you'll fly/pop/ground out unless its a good pitch to hit.

                Hope that's helpful
I'll post my pitching approach a little later

I'm 4-3 so far with the Phillies on MVP level. I've tweaked the sliders a bit, but not a bunch. I've adjusted the pitch speeds a bunch, though. I've won 13-12 and lost 2-1. Go figure......I just can't seem to get my F^%$$ sliders and settings to save!!!!!!!

Change the sliders when you first start up before you go into your season. Then save the settings and then remember to load the settings any time you go back into your season.

                            My Pitching Approach

IMO the approach you have to take this year is very different than 2003. You really have to rely on the fastball this year. Last year I never threw a fast ball after the first time through the order, and I definitely never threw it with 2 strikes - it would get smoked. This year is different. Breaking balls are harder to locate than before, so you can't rely on them. Don't be afraid to throw a good fastball. I've rung up several people with 89 mph heat. You just need to set it up.

1st Pitch) Make it a strike! The cpu will try and work the count and more often than not will lay off the first pitch. I usually start each batter off with a fastball on the outside corner. You can start every batter off with same pitch ONCE through the order. When you get back to the lead off man start him off with something new.

2nd Pitch) Make it another strike - this time OFFSPEED. I usually come with a low change up. If they do hit this it's usually a ground ball, sometimes it dips out of the zone and they chase.

3rd Pitch) Setup the K. I like to come in high and tight with fastball - Make sure you intentionally throw it as a ball. Sometimes the batter will chase for K, sometimes it will break over the plate and catch them looking for a K, but if they take the ball that's good too - cause you've set em up to sit em down.

4th Pitch) Sit em down. Now that you've got em looking at heat high and tight, I like to throw my pitchers best breaking on the outside corner. Hopefully, they will swing and miss or get caught looking.

This was an ideal situation with everything going right. If you miss with any of your pitchs don't get flustered. Remember to change speed and locations. If you miss with a couple breaking balls dont be afraid to come back with fast ball. Fastball counts are 2-0, 3-0, 3-1, and 3-2.

Don't throw a lot of breaking balls high and inside. Hitters can turn on these and pull them out of the park. Use fastballs or sinkers if you're coming inside. Hard inside - Soft away.

Don't rely on big breaking balls. They are hard to control and will usually get your pitcher behind in the count - the slow hook is good example of this. These pitches are money with 2 strikes though.

If you're up 0-2, don't throw a Strike! See if you can get a hitter to chase, and remember to use that pitch to setup your next pitch. If you throw breaking ball low and way, come back with something hard inside.

                            Hope this helps someone

Yeah, breaking balls up in the zone get ripped by everyone. I had Mark Loretta hit a bomb to center off Wade Willer because I left a curveball high.

Does turning up the foul ball slider make balls go *more* foul as well? Seems almost all my foul balls are within inches of the line.
