The players are fake, but people make real rosters for you to download. There is also a historical database you can download, so you can import the players of the past.Comment

OOTP4 is great.... I currently run an online league where we use all the updated stats for 2002.... We did start out with actual rosters, but like in any other league, there have been many trades. As far as I can tell though, We're the only ones with an updated 2002 stats league. I like playing the console baseball games just as much as the next guy, but this game actually determines if you know enough about the entire aspect of baseball to create a winning team. Checkout my online league at AOBL .... We have only completed the first 2 months of the season, but have a great group of owners, and we all plan on purchasing the ootp5 version, and importing our league into that once our first season is over.Comment

Looks like I may be getting the new release this year. The new manager mode sounds really cool as well, though I like having total control of everything.
On a side note, I guess posters like TedTurner are the negative side of making everyone register...

well you dont have to play with fake players for one......believe me there will be real rosters released shortly.
