    Mariners to keep Bavasi, McLaren

Apparently the Mariners meltdown from aug 24-sep 11 which saw the Mariners lose 15 of 17 and go from being 1 game back in the AL West to 9.5 back and out of the playoff picture wasn't enough to get Bavasi axed in Seattle.

I posted this in the team thread. I CANNOT believe this is happening.

It's not surprising although it is somewhat disappointing. The M's desperately need starting pitching and I just hope Bavasi doesn't give away the farm to get a couple of veteran rag arms. His Soriano for Ramirez trade was a disaster on so many levels. And if McLaren lets Adam Jones rot on the bench next year while trotting an immobile Raul Ibanez out to LF every day I'll scream.

You know that feeling you get when you're bracing for the inevitable but you don't know exactly what's coming? Yeah...that's how I feel about my M's right now.

            Eyes closed.

            Hands clenched.

Body on floor in fetal position.

Ready to either jump up and shout "hooray!" or hit rock bottom again...because it's quite literally one or the other at this point.

Words can't describe my disgust at this decision. I'm not sure who I wanted to see go more, Bavasi or McLaren. One acquires the bad pitching (Jeff Weaver, Chris Reitsma, Horatio Ramirez, Rick White, John Parrish) and the other one doesn't use the good pitching he has(Using Rick White instead of JJ Putz and losing the game) Good old Mariners, I'm so glad it's football season!

Anybody that trades Rafael Soriano for Horacio Ramirez does not deserve to be a scout, let alone a MLB GM.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. 3 days later and I'm still in shock they kept these two clowns. I loved Guillen's comments calling out McLaren to basically step up and be a man...tell some of the veterans no once in a while.

Of course that worthless sack Ibanez says McLaren is great and he loves him as the manager. If I were an average hitter and the 2nd worst fielder in baseball and my manager played me every day (even though there's a better player on the bench) I would love him too!

The 2008 season might be the least anticipated season for M's baseball for me since the Bill Plummer experiment.
