    Features over Gameplay?

A lot of people on htese boards seem to weigh more of their purchasing choise on the features a game offers over its gameplay. I say what good are all the features if the game plays like poop.

In my opionion, no baseball game has ever done the gameplay completely right,(though I am very impressed with this years HH) I always find some fault after extended play and I never finish a season. So who really cares if you can play 5, 10, or 20 seasons if the game sucks? Do most of you guys just sim through seasons. I feel I have to play every game, because I want to know I had everthing to do with my season.
I cant believe when I see guys base their purchase on wheather a game has A,AA, and AAA minor leagues, or if so and such has been added to the roster.

Also online play. Has anyone ever played WSB 2k2 online? It was terrible and unplayable. Even with broadband I cant see it playing that well just based on upon the split second reaction time it takes to succed in a baseball game.

To sum up, these features are great ideas and all, but what does it matter if the game is a stinker? If the developers would put the extra time to polish the gameplay before adding all these extensive features, there could be a spectacular game. Im as big a baseball enthusist as anyone here, but I just dont understand why so many fellow board members put a make or break decsion on such trivial matters.

I want to see a Madden level of polish in a baseball game. Then I will be truly satified and let the features rain down on me!

I have that game... it's fun to play if you don't use the cursor though.

I wouldnt say its just All Star. No game has ever fully impressed me for an extended period of time. I must say that All Star is one of the biggest violaters though.

Trust me, gameplay has been the #1 priority throughout the entire development cycle. You will see so very soon...

There's been improvements on pitch speeds, batting curser responsiveness, ball vaccuming, outfielder catches, cutoff man throws, tags (we added 200 motions just for tags at bases), catchable HR's, cameras, CPU AI, pitcher stamina, passed balls (I struckout and made it to 1st safely on a past ball tonight, actually), check swing appeals, and there's even a new arrow for bunting as well.

I hope gameplay has been improved because ASB last year was a great game but it never gave you that tight fluid responsiveness that people love in video games

I hope they worked the great motion capturing and better intergrated it with the user's control.
