    MVP Dive and Jump

What are you guys talking about when you say you don't like the dive and jump in MVP. I keep seeing it posted, but I never see an explanation about it. Thanks.

i think some people just like to be able to manually make that hit saving catch but i think with auto you will be able to see some really awesome animations not possible with manual, such as the JD Drew jump at the wall to snag a hop off the wall..that animation is awesome although in later games i think it would be cool to add the ability to sidestep to the wall so you can time it right like major leaguers do it could be like pressing R1 in madden to run backwards with the Defense

I think the auto diving/jumping could be a good thing, because sometimes it's real hard to time that stuff manually. I would just hope the computer wouldn't automatically do those things in a really bad situation and completely screw up your inning. So, it could be really handy, but if not done right, it could be a real nuisance.

i see where EA is going with this. they're gonna keep everyone in suspense wether the cpu can make the caught or not. if you are confident that a particulary high rated fielder (Jim Edmonds) can make a great, you're more likely to take a chance by letting the cpu jump/dive for the ball. where a low rated fielder like Chipper Jones (trust me, he will be) you're less likely to pursue a ball coming in and play it safe for a base hit.

by allowing the cpu to do this, there are more chances for 2bs, & 3bs...
I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

Chipper is an above average fielder. A year next to Andruw does that to you.

i think part of it is just seperating from the crowd. but at the same time it does have some good qualities to it. Such as a hot shot between the infeilders. cameras are always behind. also nothing is worse than running towards a line drive in the outfield (Andruw Jones style) only to have the ball go flying over your weakly controlled dive.

OH and to ans ur Q: there is not a jump/dive button.........the puter does it 4 ya

I think that in both cases the CPU dives/jumps for you. I think with CPU toggled to on the CPU assumes control from the outset of the play and if not you control the player until the dive. I think I saw it in an interview somewhere.

You are correct. The dive and jump are automatic no matter what settings you have. CPU option of fielding is simply for control of the fielders once the ball is put in play. Personally, I think this is a good move...It seemed as if I never had time on a hard hit ball to react quick enough and hit the dive button with my second baseman...I see nothing wrong with this feature, The cpu will do it better than any of us can, and that only leads to better fielding for us.
