Why does everyone seem to think ARod is going to opt out of his contract?

I haven't seen any news or anything that would make me think he is opting out, except for the fact that the media has made a big stink about it. He nor his agent have said anything about it. Furthermore, it seems as if NY is finally starting to embrace him as the superstar player he is and as the main reason they even made the postseason this year. Furthermore, Steinbrenner was quoted as saying the Yankees WILL be making a move for ARod in the offseason and he feels ARod will be back in pinstripes. What that usually means is Steinbrenner will do everything he can to get ARod back. And he has already stated on many occasions that he is still in complete control of the Yankees.

Granted Scott Boras is a shmuck who constantly asks for exorbitant amounts of money for his clients (see Andruw Jones), but there are only a handful of teams that could afford ARod and the Yankees wouldn't let the BoSox or Angels sign him. So, unless he goes to the Cubs, I don't see him going anywhere else, especially if the Yankees offer a few more years and say $25 million per year up until he's like 38.

    But I could be wrong...
