    Sliders

I realize everyone is still trying to get used to the new game (like I am), but what adjustments are most of ya'll making to the tuning files?

I immediately upped the pitch speeds a notch, but have yet to adjust anything else. It seems like we need to keep in mind that adjusting certain sliders will effect others. I.E.- upping pitch speed might necessitate lowering the catcher's throwing ability on steals.

I really like the new additions to the tune files and think that there can be a perfect balance that suits each gamer individually.

Having said that, I am currently on default all star with the pitch speeds all up one notch. I set the sim level at 7.

I will probably lower the catcher's throwing on both human and cpu. I have also read that upping fouls is a good idea.

Does anyone have a clue as to how much pitch count has an impact? I read that raising it will result in the cpu taking more pithces, and possibly more first pitch strikes.

Beyond that, I haven't played enough to get a consistent feel for what areas need adjusting. Ideas????

    Re: Sliders

Well, naturally, it's going to differ from player to player, but after only about 7 or 8 games I've made some minor slider adjustments that now have me getting very realistic stats.

On All-Star default, I was scoring 10 runs a game, but so was the CPU. So there were problems on both sides of the ball. Here's what I did:

    1. Lowered Human Contact Ease 1 notch
    2. Lowered CPU Hitting 1 notch
    3. Raised Foul Frequency 1 notch (still thinking about going up 1 more, though)

With these adjustments, I'm now seeing, for each team, 7-10 hits per game and 2-4 runs per game. I'm getting 3-4 walks a game and excellent pitch counts.

What do you mean by "excellent pitch counts"? Does that mean what you would expect to see in a real MLB game?

Not sure what the major league average is for pitches thrown by one team, but I'm getting the highest numbers I can ever remember getting in a baseball video game (around 100-110 per game).

So are we sure that lower the CPU hitting slider reduces their hitting ability, after lowering it, i am getting hit worse than before could be coincidence but I was just curious what others have found.

OR if I lower my hitting slider am I making hitting easier for me or harder? My results were the opposite of what I expected.

I wouldnt screw around with the hitting sliders. I am playing on MVP level with default sliders except for pitch speeds up one notch and I am getting realistic results. The only other things I am considering are raising foul ball slider and lowering catcher throwing one notch as base stealing has basically become impossible with the faster pitches.
