    What about MLB 2004?

I understand that 989 has had a horrible track record as of late, but maybe we are overlooking MLB to soon. I am leaning towards either WSB or ASB, but i would really like to hear more about MLB. What do you guys think?

MLB will have one season of franchise and ten seasons of career (where you create a guy and keep track of him throughout his tenure). MLB has a long ways to go though.

I realize that MLB doesnt have the name recognition that these other titles have. I still wonder why it hasnt received at least as much buzz as MVP considering what a pile Triple Play was. At least MLB was a decent title on ps1.

because 989 has made about 1/100 good games as EA...Triple Play was not always horrible there was a time when it was playable...and EA makes a lot of other good sports games...i.e. Madden, NCAA Football, NBA Live(which they also brought back from craptacular in one year), and a few more such as NBA Street

Scamden im with u brother. MLB on PS1 was very fun to play. Features that HH and AllStar have are wonderful but the gameplay just seems to be lacking that full control over the ball players unlike in MLB on PS1. Read my recent thread directed towards Steve. I told him unless he already played the game and it sucked he should give this game some pub. Everyone that has seen videos of this game are impressed how smooth it looks plus the price is $40. These days games like HH and Allstar whether a Sony 1st party gam e or not should reduce their prices when every year the games dont really improve in gameplay. Just read all the reviews. HH and All Star 2k4 got low scores in gameplay which is far more important than features.

I replied to that thread. Also, if they decide to send me some screenshots and movie clips, I'd be more than happy to post them. I'll chime in with them again today.

                        Re: What about MLB 2004?

I'm leaning towards WSB as well but I'm interested in hearing about the gameplay on MLB. I owned this game on the PSX several years ago and really liked it. They were the first ones to use the four butons on the controller for throwing to each of the bases. Vin Scully is a great commentator as well.

But I think MLB and MVP will be OK games this year and better games next year after they have a chance to smooth out the game play.

I think will all the problems 989 has been having with MLB the past few years(i don't think it ever came out last year) they have all but killed the series.
