How many people hit without moving the directional stick? I started to try
I started to try it out and it seems like I hit better than normal but I feel if I face a pitcher with alot of movement I might need to move my stick. Any comments on this? I read some guys on the board hit by just pressing x and it seems to work pretty well.Tags: None -

That will not work very good, especially against a good pitcher. You have to use the x button and directional pad to have any real success scoring. Besides, what fun is just mashing X? It is a lot more fun using the directional pad to pull the ball, or go out and get an low and outside curve and hit it to right, or turn on an inside fastball. I don't know how anyone can hit worth a crap by just mashing X!Comment

Re: How many people hit without moving the directional stick? I started to try
I haven't picked up this years version since it's not out yet for the XBOX but for the last 4 years I have only used the "X" button to hit.
I don't necessarily mash at the ball....I just wait for a pitch that I can drive...usually at or near the middle of the zone...I am a patient hitter(in real life as well)...
I dont know if this strategy will work with this years game...I'm intyerested to find out.teaching.............still fun
video games........I wish my boys would let me play

the idea behind this is if the ball is a strike, your player should be able to hit it. if it's a ball and you swing by just pressing X, he will not make contact.
i hovered around .500 on hof level last year. never really used the d-pad.
think about it. when you hit in real life, do you really concentrate on exactly where you're swinging the bat? i know i don't. i just swing. my instincts help my hands place the bat where it needs to be.
same in hh. if you have a strike, swing. no need to aim (although i'm sure aiming would help your power - but if you aim wrong, on the other hand, you're screwed - that's why i don't do it), just press X. you'll be fine. try it out if you want.Comment

Only time I really try to aim the ball while hitting is when I'm moving a guy over or just trying to lift it to the outfield... I do not see why a video game should be any differentNCAA Vets League: Arkansas Razorbacks (9-2, 6-1)
