I can see his side of it. Probably seems like the team was only hanging onto him until he broke the record.

However, I can understand the Giants wanting to move on. At 43 years old, the money they spend on Barry could be better spent elsewhere.

Re: Bond's bitter about being "fired"

Another "woe is me" rant from Bonds. The guy is as selfish as they come.

He's probably realized that he's screwed and there isn't a single team in the Majors that will be interested in him over the winter.

He's probably going to demand upwards of $12m/yr and no one is going to give it to him. And there is no way in hell the Yankees are signing him to be a DH. We already have an old, ex-needle freak, overpaid lefty who has no agility and is injury prone to be our DH.

There's no asterisk in his name. Don't know where you got that from.

And yes, he should be. I don't FULLY agree with his comment about him being a better part time player than any other selected full time player, and it pisses me off that that's all he considers himself as.

On that same token, it sounds like he is willing to play left field still. Perhaps he won't go to the American League, after all. Time will tell, of course. Who knows? He may come back to San Francisco.

Either way, MaGowan treated him like crap this year, and right in his face as well. I'm surprised Bonds is even asking for a second chance after the way he's been handled.

There is a rumor in here in Cincy that Bonds wants to play here for Dusty.

Bring him to Boston. I'll take the 1.045 OPS (.480 OBP) at DH while Ortiz is recovering from his knee surgery.

Have you ever heard of the saying, "What goes around comes around"? Bond's has been treating people like garbage for years, now it's his turn.

I'll send him a case of tissue.

                  ^^
That is a crock...Bonds treats the MEDIA like garbage.
He treats players like Jeff Kent like garbage.

He is nice to fans and that is after sheep like you thinking steroids can make you hit more HRs, and even if you believe that hogwash...more pitchers have been caught then hitters...so if Bonds took steroids(allegedly) and the pitcher took steroids....how is HE the bad guy, how did he have an advantage? Could you imagine getting attacked by fans everytime you are out and then signing a kids autograph?

Add to the fact the government wants him nailed...and can't, and they frame innocent people all the time...makes me give him the benefit of the doubt

I lean towards him taking steroids but I also faced 95 mph fastballs and 88 mph sliders. No steroid will make your brain faster, `or improve hand eye coordination.

                  Anyway I digress....

MaGowan used Bonds to fill the seats with a horrible team...then treated Bonds with disdain BEFORE the year was over. You don't think Barry would have signed for less? They could have least offered...so he could play 1 more year get his 3000 hit hit 15 HR and have Sept mean something as his so long tour

Is Ortiz going to miss time?

I thought his surgery was going to be pretty minor.
