Re: MVP Interview @ Sportplanet
In our behind the pitcher view, you’ll also see the catcher’s glove close on the ball, which looks sweet.
I'm assumin this is only for CPU vs. CPU, but it's still pretty odd that the developer would mention it so freely.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Jason Leigh, MVP Baseball Game Designer: The PC version this year will fully support online play. Consoles will have online play next year.
I thought EA wasn't supporting XBOX live... Does this mean they are?"if only you've seen, what I've seen with your eyes.."

Jason Leigh, MVP Baseball Game Designer: We tried to include as many subtleties as possible this year. You will see broken bats (which look and play awesome), double switches, and dirty uniforms. Each stadium has its own grass cut, and many of the stadiums have their own unique home run celebration animations. You’ll see the tiger’s eyes light up in Detroit, the big apple move up and down in Shea and the train move in Houston. As for the players, you’ll see unique batting stances complete with individual swings, hand animations, and incredible facial animation. It looks amazing when the pitcher is winding up and you see him grit his teeth as he delivers. In our behind the pitcher view, you’ll also see the catcher’s glove close on the ball, which looks sweet.
I wonder if this would be in-game or only in like a cpu-cpu demo type situation? I guess we'll have to wait a few more weeks to find out, unless someone else confirms it first.Comment
