Walks - Do you draw them and give them?

I haven't seen this mentioned much yet. To the people that have the game:

    1) Are you drawing a decent amount of walks?
    2) Does the CPU draw walks?

    Thanks.

I give them a lot more than I draw them, however, I certainly do draw a few every game. I need more gametime to learn how to read the pitches. It's not the Kzone like WSB last year, it's certainly me.

        GHill,

Thats good to hear. Usually it takes some time to draw walks for yourself. You have to learn the batter interface.

Usually the problem lies in the CPU never drawing walks, because thats not really something you can change.

Great news! Thanks for the quick response. Hopefully others will have the same experiences.

Right now I'm drawing about 4 walks a game, and the cpu is drawing about 2. I sometimes get into a habit of swinging on the first pitch, which doesn't always lead to alot of walks. I turned the foul slider up another notch to 2 above default in my last game and I really liked what I saw. This leads to more pitches as almost everything you contact won't be a fair ball.

I tend to not throw too many balls on purpose early in the count. I TRY to throw strikes until I get 2 strikes on the batter. Then I will waste a pitch or two trying to get hitter to swing at a bad pitch. When the pitcher starts tiring or either doesn't have much control to begin with, that's when it begins to become an adventure on the mound. You can call for a strike and maybe it'll be in the zone, maybe it won't! I really enjoy this aspect of the game. I don't like the games that don't take fatigue into account when determining player performance.

High Heat has always handled pitcher fatigue well. I think it has a lot to do with the lack of a piching cursor.

If the cpu is drawing 2 walks, thats not bad to start. I usually throw a lot more balls than the normal person. I'll intentionally throw some garbage on the first pitch on occasion, just to see what kind of swinger the guy is.

I average about 2 walks taken and 2 walks given per game.

I give up much more than two a game. I probably draw close to 4 a game.

Having the fould notch at 2 above default is perfect.
