Eh. He's getting too inconsistent during the season...but I sure will miss him in game 6 next year, if the Red Sox can get there.

If Schilling wants to continue his career he'll probably get some attractive offers for teams that are very close to being legit contenders and such. Actually I wonder if San Diego would make an offer?

LOL at him listing the New York Mets as one of the possible teams he would like to play for. If the Mets do end up signing Schilling i think it would be Glavine all over again.

It'll probably happen if the Padres don't dive into the market for a LF, CF, or 2B.

Remember, they were hoping to get someone in LF last year, but ended up signing Maddux. Personally I don't mind a rotation of Peavy, Young, Maddux, Schilling, and a scrub, but that rotation won't get much run support.

We'll see. The Padres have to travel a fine line to keep themselves at pace with the Rockies and D-Backs this offseason. They have to find with of the three positions they have holes in and figure which two they'll plug through trades/FA and decide if Antonelli is ready to be the starting 2nd basemen.

Preferrably I'd rather see them get Loretta, sign Fukudome, trade for Coco Crisp, probably give up Chase Headley, David Freese, or Chad Huffman and one of the AA pitchers on the rise and a AAA reliever. I'm just tossing that out right now because I have no clue to what Boston is looking for if they're willing to trade Crisp.

I thought Roger Clemens took that honor.

I'm pretty sure there are bigger attention whores than Curt Schilling. I mean I don't like the guy at all, but I sure as well don't mind having him on the Padres.

It's like asking me about Tom Brady. I hate the guy, but I wouldn't mind him being the QB of the Chargers if there was that opportunity.

The Sox are willing to trade Crisp and i don't think they will be looking for top tier prospects in return.

Scott Hairston's performance for the Padres down the stretch last season probably solidifies the LF job for him.

There are not many 2B on the free agent market this winter so the Padres may have to go with an in house candidate or try and make a trade.

I'm not sure if the Padres will make Schilling an offer or not but don't be surprised if they bring Bret Tomko back for another season.

I'd gladly take Shilling in Atlanta.

I don't ever recall Roger Clemens calling someone bush league or having his own blog.

I was listening to 680 The Fan in Atlanta on the way home from work and couldn't help but shake my head at the pure idiocy emanating from the airwaves. One of Buck or Kincade (I can't tell them apart) was absolutely savaging Schilling as somebody the Braves shouldn't even look into because his "act" doesn't fit in with Bobby Cox's clubhouse.

When asked to elaborate he cited the 1993 Philadelphia Phillies and their unprofessionalism as evidence that Schilling is a bad person. When responded with how his teammates in 1993 have literally nothing to do with the man today, this hack cited Schilling's blog as evidence that he wouldn't fit in with the Braves.

I truly can't understand how these bozos make it onto the air. Do they know anything about the topics they are allegedly "experts" in? If this hack ripping Schilling even knew of half the good that Schilling has done in Boston since he joined in 2003, I guarantee his mind would change.

Bottom line is that the Atlanta Braves or any other team should be lucky that Schilling would even think of signing with them. He's arguably the best guy available on the market, yet mediots rip on Schilling because he proves that their jobs are largely archaic and meaningless.

As good as Scott Hairston was, let's remember that was against the Giants in which he had almost all his successes as a Padre. I'd be more comfortable with him as the 4th outfielder and a better player in LF Then again, the Padres have decided to move Chase Headley to LF in the AFL so we may see Hairston there for next season. At 2nd, either Blum may get another year, Loretta may be an option, or Antonelli may win the job outright in spring training.

The Padres have two spots available in the rotation, Tomko is a canidate and so is Germano. It depends on how they feel about those two players. I can see Tomko coming back, but Germano needs to step up if he wants to stay in the rotation. Schilling would be nice, but I don't think the Padres should tie in so much money on a guy who may pitch no higher than 3 in the rotation.
