I don't want to see challenges put in place in baseball. I'm OK with reviewing home runs only, but I really hate the idea of everything being reviewable.

Not necessarily. Bud Selig has the final say. If Bud doesn't want it, then he can say no.

Personally, I don't like it. The human aspect is a part of the game. As someone else said, sometimes the calls go your way, sometimes they don't - but overall, the umps do a pretty good job.

There are too many parks where there are areas when it can be unclear whether a ball hit a wall and stayed in versus just clearing a wall, hitting something just behind it at nearly the same height, then bouncing back in. (Even Fenway atop the Green Monster now features such a wonderful design.)

If the introduction of instant replay is limited to home runs only forever and ever, fantastic. If it's just the camel getting his nose in the tent, with anything else incrementally getting added at a later date, it'll end up being a mistake.

These type of rules make me sick, but I guess I felt the same way when the NFL added instant Replay. I like the Human Element, what they should do is just add 2 more umpires down the lines or whatever. I just hope this never is allowed where a coach can challenege a call. And it's common sense what would happen if a hr is overturned it's a foul ball, so a strike, but one things for sure players will be getting tossed.

We're not perfect and IMO it would make the games drag.(unless you are talking about just homerun calls, it's hard to tell with the balls and strikes aspect being introduced into the thread...that wouldn't lengthen the game any.)
            They are already too long.
Every sport is the same....with the human element in place, there will be some questionable calls. As a player, manager and fan, you learn to deal with it....sometimes they go your way, sometimes the other, but the calls are good for the most part.

I think the balls and strikes aspect might be a stretch but in terms of HR calls I can't think of one good reason not to replay them. It's not "life" though. When you have a magical little box with a camera in it that tells you the answer to your question (HR or not?) then you ask the box if there is a problem.
