missing players

If you look in the extra players list Tim Labrie is Brian Daubach and Paul Newell is a bigger Rick Ankiel. All you have to do is check the stats from the game and compare them to real life stats and it is close to a perfect match. Rick Ankiel isn't as big in real life but the stats mirror his real stats.

you would think that 3do would be able to put the right players in the game.

it as nothing to do with 3dO. if a player is not part of the major league players association their real name can not be used.

well if that is the case then why isn't rick ankiel in the game. he is in the players association. all the missing players are actually in the players association, so it should be only the minor leaguers that are made up.

I think Daubach was a scab thus he can't or won't be let into the players union.

During that strike when the owners brought in replacement players (scabs), Daubach, Rick Reed, and Benny Agbayani were among those players. There may be a few others who are still in the majors, but those are the only ones that come to mind. Anyway, the MLB Players Association refuses to allow them to become members, thus, they are not represented by the union. The only way they could be in a video game is if the game company signed a separate contract with each of them. The way most games handle this situation is probably the best/easiest thing to do (to have them in the game under another name, and allow the user to change it to their correct name).
