MSFT, EASPORTS bid for SEGA takeover ?

    News Link

This might mean the elimination of WSB2k3 or MVP or Inside Pitch for next season, hopefully they combine 2 into one ultimate game if this happens.

Well if EA gets them then it does eliminate WSB, NFL2k, NBA2k, ect, but if Microsoft gets them I don't think it does. I think Microsoft would give them the freedom to still create their own games and microsoft continue to create their own series. VC/Sega would become the Xbox's EA but no multiplatform perhaps. Just like how the PS2 has 989 and EA, the Xbox would have MS game Studios and Sega. At least that's how I hope it would work LOL!

That would be nice--Visual Concepts heading Fever, ID, NHL development and IP.

They will keep the Sega Sports names and everything they will just be a subdivision of Microsoft.

I heard in some other article that the Sega's takeover would not include Visual Concepts. It will be interesting to see what part of Sega would be for sale.

Hopefully EA doesn't buy Sega because they are the only ones who are really pushing EA to make Madden better each year.

This sux and i am an EA guy. Less competition=Less quality

Look at this year's baseball games. Every company has worked their *** off. because there are so many.

Now the football franchise is going to suck. Hocky will suck. Basketball suck.

I'm pretty sure Visual Concept is just a programming house that has a contract with Sega. I don't know if they are a part of this deal.

what this will mean those is probably some of these sports games get googled up. I would love to see Microsoft truly take on EA Sports. But it's always nice to have Sega Sports around. As much as I dislike some of their games. Competition is a good thing.
