The voters were sane this time around. Unanimous without a doubt."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I know he's young and all but i'd like to see Peavy actually win a playoff game.

Re: Peavy wins NL Cy Young
Or... they'd rather wait until he becomes a free agent so they can sign him instead of trading away one of their highly touted young pitchers because the Padres are cheap-*** tightwads and would rather be a minor league team developing young players only to lose them to teams that appreciate a talent that's entering his prime.Last edited by BatsareBugs; 11-16-2007, 06:14 PM.Comment

Re: Peavy wins NL Cy Young
They don't want a guy who has been lit up in two playoff games and couldn't pitch lights out in a one-game playoff in a place that's hell for pitchers.

But they are right, two playoff games, including one he pitched with broken ribs is a great sign he can't pitch in the postseason. .
BTW, before they got him, what was Roger Clemens post season legacy?Comment
