    Kenny Rogers fires Scott Boras

Apparently this is not Scott Boras's week.

Hope other players follow in Rogers and even Arod's path and drop this clown.

This Arod deal really took the bite out of Boras. I won't say he is finished but teams are definitely going to play hardball with him when dealing with players.

I hope so, because the majority of baseball fans think steroids is the big evil in baseball...I think Agents are...they should have limitations placed upon them. They are the reason, not the owners for the fact that taking a family to 4 to ONE game costs $100 or more. Last time the owners fought back they were charged with collusion.

Baseball needs new rules with players' rights half old reserve clause, half free agency. That would lower ticket prices significantly

I'm not convinced the majority of fans legitimately care about steroids in baseball.

I gotta disagree here...It's the owners, plain and simple. Take a look at the Tampa Bay Rays 2007 ticket prices http://tampabay.rays.mlb.com/news/pr...t=.jsp&c_id=tb. The "average" price for a ticket was $23.19. For a family of for it is $92+ for one game. They had the lowest (or one of the lowest) payrolls in the game, they play in a horrible stadium, and they do not have one guy making big money. Yet, it still cost $200 dollars for a family to have a night out at a game.

Pure and simple, it's the owners charging the prices and using the salaries as an excuse. Fact is, the teams make millions more than they pay out, even the Yanks, Sox, Mets, and whatever other big payroll team you can think of. If the money wasn't there, these agents would be getting anything. An owner will only cut a check if he thinks he can make money off the guy or it won't hurt the bottom line.

Small market teams cry poverty and all, but they are making good money and getting a slice from the revenue sharing too. It's the owners...the agents are pretty much powerless if the owners didn't have the money to spend.

They don't. If fans cared about steroids, high player salaries, or high ticket prices, it stands to reason that they'd stay away. Yet attendance and revenues are higher than ever.

He shouldn't represent Rogers anyways. Boras is more for a young FA who wants to maximize their cash, Rogers wasn't that kind of guy. This is hardly the crumbling of the Scott Boras empire.
