Could someone explain Zone Hitting to me?
After 3 games I know for a fact that cursor batting is going to be a no go with me. I haven't had a hit with the cursor on yet. I tried zone batting, but I'm not sure what to do and the manual says nothing about it. Appreciate any tips. No, I didn't draft Grossman on my fantasy team, what do you think I am an idiot?

I was in the same boat as you.. You have to give Cursor batting time. I'm on 6 games now and my hitting is starting to come alive... 10 hits a game.
I'm using Classic batting with exaggrated pitching on using Rookie level.
Give it a chance.... -

Re: Could someone explain Zone Hitting to me?
Brando's right......its pretty identical to HH with the big difference being that you have a much greater margin of contact opportunity. To make contact only requires to be in the proper zone and use the proper timing ( ie a low fastball would require the proper timing and a push down on the stick and a high and outside pitch to a righty would require proper timing plus an upward right diagonal push, ect )
I personally would try to learn the cursor as best you can because this will yield you the most control and satisfaction of your hit placements...just keep practicing and remember to follow the ball NOT the cursor...its a tough habit to break but when you get it, it will be very rewarding.Comment

You know what Smalls? I like your take on this game. While a lot of people where ready to run this game right back to the store, you've taken the time to learn the game. If hitting was too easy everyone one would be smokin hot about that. Now it's a lillte tougher and, "It's too hard this sucks."(He says in his best whining voice) So keep the info coming man, because you're getting me juiced about the PS2 version.Comment

Re: Could someone explain Zone Hitting to me?
Slows down the pitch speed a little and makes the curve and slider, etc break more. It gives us more time to react with the bigger curves and sliders. it's not as realistic, but much easier to play with."Well the NBA is in great hands but if I had to pick the single greatest player on the planet, I take Kobe Bryant without hesitation." - Michael Jordan, 2006Comment
