i can't imagine anyone really biting too hard...

I mean, the Cubs med/physio staff is a joke, and add to that Prior's mechanics, and you have disaster...

also, you can add him as the best example of DustyBaker's "leave 'em in" approach to starters...NLCS, Game 6...stupid bastard.

He's worth a scrub if the Cubs are willing to pay half his salary.

All joking aside... is Prior healthy right now? Did he spend the year in AAA? I haven't heard from the guy at all lately...

He'll fall in line with all the other former Cubbies that have moved on to new teams: he'll instantly regain his former form, stay injury free, and be a Cy Young quality pitcher for the next 7-10 years.

I think they should give him one more chance now that he has had surgery. I am hearing more and more rumors of lots of teams being interested in him. If he can pitch, he is better than any fifth starter they used last year.

He's better than everyone but Zambrano, if healthy.

Wasnt Prior always lauded for his mechanics? I thought there was a study done while he was in college about his mechanics and a computer program stated that they were "near perfect". I could be wrong about that though.

The more I think about it, I agree with you. I think they should give him one more year and see what the surgery did for him. I doubt their chances of getting a worthy player back in a trade and I'd hate to give up on him to soon, though I think we've been saying that for years now.

I'd go as far as to say he's better than Z when healthy. Z acts like a 12 year old, while Prior, to the best of my knowledge, hasnt really had any outbursts or fits of rage while on the mound.

In 2003, Prior was everything an ace should be to me, but I cant say I've seen that out of Zambrano for more than an inning or two. Dont get me wrong, I like emotion, but he's a head case.

That's why I would rather have him on with the Cubs, even if he's always on the DL and making a huge salary, would be better than him being somewhere like Boston winning 20 games .

Prior non-tendered. He is a free agent.

                          Indians take a chance!!!

Hell, send him to Tampa, Kazmir, Garza, Shields and Prior could be a deadly rotation if all stay healthy.

I would love for the Braves to take a chance on him... though probably more likely that a team such as the Yankees, who can afford to potentially 'waste' a few mill, will pick him up.

I would take a chance, but I could be wrong. I hear he might not be ready until the all star break. Rumor has it that he heads back out west to SD.

Him and Pavano on the same team wouldn't work too well.

It may be worth it to take a flyer on him though for a 1 year deal, because the Yankees are going to need some extra starters if they don't want to throw Chamberlain, Hughes, and Kennedy out their for 180+ innings.
