Re: Looks like the Cub's are willing to trade Mark Prior
i can't imagine anyone really biting too hard...
I mean, the Cubs med/physio staff is a joke, and add to that Prior's mechanics, and you have disaster...
also, you can add him as the best example of DustyBaker's "leave 'em in" approach to starters...NLCS, Game 6...stupid bastard.Australian Rules Football...just sayin'Comment

He's worth a scrub if the Cubs are willing to pay half his salary.Comment

All joking aside... is Prior healthy right now? Did he spend the year in AAA? I haven't heard from the guy at all lately...http://flotn.blogspot.com

He'll fall in line with all the other former Cubbies that have moved on to new teams: he'll instantly regain his former form, stay injury free, and be a Cy Young quality pitcher for the next 7-10 years.PS4: aBayBates

Re: Looks like the Cub's are willing to trade Mark Prior
I think they should give him one more chance now that he has had surgery. I am hearing more and more rumors of lots of teams being interested in him. If he can pitch, he is better than any fifth starter they used last year.Comment

He's better than everyone but Zambrano, if healthy.Comment

I'd go as far as to say he's better than Z when healthy. Z acts like a 12 year old, while Prior, to the best of my knowledge, hasnt really had any outbursts or fits of rage while on the mound.
In 2003, Prior was everything an ace should be to me, but I cant say I've seen that out of Zambrano for more than an inning or two. Dont get me wrong, I like emotion, but he's a head case.Comment

I would take a chance, but I could be wrong. I hear he might not be ready until the all star break. Rumor has it that he heads back out west to SD.Comment

It may be worth it to take a flyer on him though for a 1 year deal, because the Yankees are going to need some extra starters if they don't want to throw Chamberlain, Hughes, and Kennedy out their for 180+ innings.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment
