Well I ran some of my famous Dick Smalls tests here and found something pretty interesting.....I ran this test with 2 seperate pitchers with a wide variety of pitches. Basically, I ran this little test because I noticed that the exaggerated Pitch setting didnt seem to be so exaggerated at all.
With each pitcher, I basically threw the same exact pitch trying to hit the same locations while I alternated back and forth between the 2 pitch settings NORMAL and EXAGGERATED. What I found was interesting, I saw no indication of exaggerated arcs on breaking balls, screwballs, sliders, ect.......The only thing that I clearly noticed was that all the pitch speeds were simply proportionately slower then their NORMAL counterparts. Some of you may be thinking...OK so what's the big deal?? Well it's not a big deal at all, but it kinda takes away the taboo that alot of people including myself felt about turning this option for the fear of seeing exaggerate breaks and loopy pitches just to improve their hitting.
I am pleased with what I found that all exaggerated seems to do is simply use the real pitches at slower speeds, I threw plenty of breaking pitches and alot of junk to try and recreated exaggerated ARCS and found nothing but slowed down speeds........
So for those of you that are just finding the speeds of pitches in ASB 2004 a bit too fast for you, try the Exaggerated setting and leave the rest of your difficulty and batting settings alone and see if this improves your experience and fun of the game. Since I have enabled it, I have been having a blast.....However, once I feel I start to dominate in this mode, I think i will go back to NORMAL just for the added challenge
tell me what you think...
