One of those kind of game employees told my sister to buy NBA Hoops for me during the holiday season. He probably did that only because he saw that my sister is Black. I tried to return the game and they wouldn't even exchange it because ti was already open ( my sister obviously didn't know about EBgames). I confronted the punk and he was standing there defending the game as one of the worst fanboys would do. I got so loud I let everybody know what kind of idiot he was.

These kind of guys only know about RPG's anyway so they should not even have the right to form an opinion on the subject of sports games.

Same thing happend, because im black they gave my mom street hoops, and NBA Live... and i traded live for 2k3 and I'm happy.. Street hoops, was sloppy to me.. it didnt seem done, it was missing something.

Some of you guys must be down in the deep south...all of the EB guys out in Cali are 75% Asian....they usually aren't out to get us balck gamers....which is cool...but they do seem to favor the quests moreso than sports games...take it with a grain of salt...unless the guy behind the counter is wearing a hood with EA logo on it.

I told the guy Street Hoops was a weak stereotyped version of NBA Street and he agreed with me, but he still defended the game. When I went to EB Games, I asked for NBA 2K3 and he came out with NBA Live. He didn't even know what it was .

THere was a Babbages in NY where I used to live and it was the only game store ever that the people knew what they wre doing. They had about 5 guys that worked there full time and each of them had there own genre they liked. One was RPG, Action, so on, and they had a sports game. The best part is that these guys were all objective in what they said about each game, ya asked what there favorite was, and they would tell ya, but they would also tell you why other games were good or bad. I wish every store would follow the model of the Babbages in Saratoga, NY

I can't speak for EB, but I worked in college for Babbages (which is run almost exactly like EB). Electronic Arts pays a crap load to these companies to advertise their games (thats where all the giant standees and game posters come from). They also offer freebies and stuff to the managers if they can move enough merchandise. Now, what I am about to say isn't legal, but it happens. The manager will force his employees to push the EA games over the other to customers. While he cannot technically punish them if they fail to do what he says, he can still make their lives a living Hell ( cutting back on their hours, forcing them to work crappy shifts, writing them up for trivial matters, etc.) And since these guys are only making a little over minimum wage, they do what the manager tells them.

P.S. Don't assume all the employees are "stupid" at places like this. I told the people the truth (which was still all my opinion). When the manager started to "punish me" for not pushing EA games (I WOULD NEVER tell someone to buy a Triple Play game), I made a little secret recording of one of his "motivational speeches". One threat to take it to a lawyer and go for a discrimination lawsuit (which I could never have afforded, but hey, the bluff worked ) and he left me alone.
