Is this how the Mets plan to save their pitching staff?
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

DOH! We lost Barton. That sucks.

The Nationals can have Matt "I've been in A ball for 4 years now" Whitney though.

I like Matt "I broke my leg playing pick up basketball because I'm a *******" Whitney better.

He wasn't anything special pre-broken leg either.

Now he's a first basemen, he'll never see the light of day of even AAA in our farm system. Good riddance.

I'm hearing good things about Barton so I like the pickup, have any insider info on him being as I'm sure you've followed his career more being as he was in the Indians organization?

It was expected, though it was surprising that Tampa wasn't the team selecting him.

Yeah, he's a doubles machine. He reminds me of Vlad, saw him play for a year at Lake County. He swings at EVERYTHING and hits everything hard. Very hard. Dude doesn't know how to hit things light.

In one and a half years, he went from low A, to AAA in the Indians organization. He's gonna be good.

Sounds good to me, with how our off season has been going its nice to get a low risk potentially very high reward guy.

We're loaded with LH hitting OF's on the bench, only RH at the moment is Ludwick so I think he has a great shot at sticking with us barring a god awful spring.

I'm surprised that no team took Jeff Allison. I know that he's a Josh Hamilton type guy multiplied by about 90, but he's only 23 and has ace potential. I wish the O's would have looked at him.

The cards like these players that do anything to get on base, I really don't like his chances to make the cards team out of spring training, so you will see him back. Ludwick, Ankiel, Schumakler, Edmonds, and Duncan will definitely be there. I guess if Enc doesn't come back, he has a shot, and he sounds like a guy who could come out of nowhere, also J Rod has a shot this year as well. We are stacked in the Outfield.
