Too many "good" games (not enough "great")

In a year when there are so many "good" games and none "which" seem to be "great" i find myself just trying to pick out the game which offers the most. This is hard when every game seems to offer something different and which in my opinion each holds a different piece to the puzzle for the ultamate baseball game.
-HH with its amazing sim and depth to its games and franchise modes in which all minor leage levels are present but lacks the graphics and fun you get with other games.
-ASB with its aproach to game modes and features with some inovative ideas in the franchise mode. Yet this game too just does not look or play up to the potential of the modern console's.
-MLB has a interesting spring training mode and a cursor which sounds interesting to me in which both the batter/pitcher ratings come into play on the size of the cursor as does the pitch which you guess will be thrown. Stances also look very similar to the real players and while this game may suprise it is unproven and may not be graphically sound or deep to be considered a front, runner.
-MVP is by far the most intriging to of, to me, all of the games. It is inovative, attractive, and deep. Player models look real and the game seems to have let the aspect of Triple Play go. Wait, Triple Play? Oh yea this is an EA game and EA has seemed to gone more arcade in the recent past. It is also a first time game so who knows what bugs lurk. It also has no true minor leagues which happen to be a big selling point(for me) in the games that have them. And this game looks so promising too.
-WSB brings the best package in my opinion with a healthy balance of realism/fun, graphics/gameplay, depth/simplicity and it seems to have the most of the things I look for. It is a proven game which seems to have the least bugs and fixed past problems. This game too, however, has its share of problems, with no scaling, stiff players, and arcade like play, which make this game on the same level as the others
I dont know when there will be a game good enough to please everybody but these year seems to have nice selection. This year I will probably get WSB 2k3. Not because it is the best game, but because it offers hte most of what I like and because of fear it may not be around next year or years to come because of an EA or Microsoft merge with the company Sega. MVP looks like it may be this years game to own with its new and different approach to baseball gaming. It looks so promising. I think I will wait until next year though when it can clear up any bugs and add onto a solid foundation. In any case this years stock of games may be the most competitive ever but without a stand out game i fear this year may be the most disappointing.
