    Focus on Gameplay

Someone please explain why game companies can't just focus on gameplay and realism. Every year I buy new titles and they just add extras like deeper franchise modes etc.

I would much rather have a super great game with just a season and no franchise that is if the game was that good.

They could do it if they wanted to. All you would have to do is take the best features from each baseball title and put them together and you would have the greatest game ever.

I guess they will never perfect games due to the fact that they want you to buy a new one every yesr. This is not just this game but all sports games.

    Regards,

The reason companies add the 'bells and whistles' rather than perfect gameplay is $$$$$. The average gamer rather see amazing animations then amazing gameplay. Unfortunately, I believe there are more of this type of gamer then there are simulation gamers.

Deeper franchise modes make for better simulation so you should COMMEND video game companies for taking the time to incorporate things like that. Now I think what you're talking about are things like stadium tours and putting future stadiums and throwback uniforms and all that. It's all good and it's what attracts the casual gamers and graphics whores. Those are sadly the type of poeple that companies are selling to, not the simulation freaks.
