I have no idea if this was in last years game or not, so excuse me if this is old news, but i was reading in the manual that if you click the right thumbstick, you can bring up what is called the "manager menu" (according to the manual). In this menu, you can access things like Hot/Cold zones, Pitch History, Hit Chart, and Intentional Walk. There is some REALLY usefull stuff in here. For example, if you take a look at the Pitch History, you can see (if you are pitching) every single pitch you have thrown to that batter for this game, what kind of pitch it was, if it was a strike, and what they did with the pitch. I found this especially usefull to guys who have been giving me trouble. I would look at the history, and notice what sort of pitches he has been hitting off me, then look at his hot/cold zone, and try to find a better place to put the ball. It will do WONDERS for you getting a batter out. And if you look at the Hit Chart, you get an overhead view of the stadium with a line showing exactly where each of his balls has been hit. It even shows the the percentages of where he places the ball. Also, you can view this information for yourself when you are at bat.
I'm sure most of you already know about this, but i just found out and wanted to share it with anyone new to the game that might have missed it in the manual. I think this is a GREAT feature, and really helps you play better strategic ball. Enjoy
