One of the most annoying things about ASB '03 was that you could not use those fantastic throwback jerseys in franchise mode. They were only available in exhibition mode. I don't know why, it seemed like such a simple fix. Anyway, I'm afraid to ask for fear of the disappointment of learning that they won't be in there again.

I don't think that you can use throwbacks in the Franchise. At least I cant. In the options menu prior to a game the change jersey option is grayed out.
