    I think it has more to do with Clemens threatening to sue him.

    I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being more of a counter-sue to somewhat threaten Clemens' legal team that he'll defend his comments in court.

    And considering that McNamee basically revealed information that could be used against him in court if he lied, he'd probably want to fight any lawsuit that would hurt his position in court. He may be a drug dealer but he's also a drug dealer that probably got a pass for talking. Any threat on that, likely drawing a charge of perjury, could hurt him legally.

      Then he should say he'll countersue. To say he's going to fire the first strike sounds silly. No one is surprised Clemens denies the allegations. Its the "American way". Where the prez himself can ask the public to "define lie".
