The jury is not out on ASB. It has been well documented in the ASB thread that this year's game IS NOT homer happy!

I rented high heat this weekend and on the default settings i was blasting homers left and right. I was using my lowly pirates and I hit multiple homers with Jack Wilson, Randall Simon, and Pokey Reese! Thats not even close to realistic. Is it better on higher diffuculty levels?

Yes indeed it is better on the harder difficulty levels. It may also help to increase pitch speed and decrease the hitting power. High Heat allows you to adjust so many game play attributes that almost anyone can find a game play style that they enjoy. HH 2004 also has a contact slider.

FWIW i'm not finding this years ASB too HR happy. I'm using the Zone system, which is like HH, and i'm hitting a decent amount of HRs, but nothing too crazy. I think i'm around an average of 1/game. May be a tad high for the Red Sox, but i've only played 14 games. I've had plenty of no HR games, and a few multiple HR games.

Re: Are there too many homers in WSB?

yeh i noticed last year of WSB you could not string together a lot of hits in an inning. but i played all 162 games with ASTROS and Berkman led my team with 41 and Bagwell had 39. i also had Rolen on my team about mid-season and had 36 for the whole season. so i think homers are real and Sega said no homers unless you swing with power.

Unless I'm mistaken Sega said you could hit HR's without going the route of the power swing. Power swing makes it slightly easier IF you get good contact and there are no check swings with power swings... I could be wrong though ...have to look it up...
