My first franchise game!! Long story

Hi all, Just started my franchise with the Red Sox. I played a few games of spring training then simmed up till the opener at Tampa.I am up 1-0, I have Petey on the hill , He has 6k's through 6 innings. The 7th they get 2 guys on with Gregg Vaugn up who hasn't been a player in about 5 years. I trough him some junk but he doesn't chase,I try to get a fastball up and in by him and whap long drive to left to the wall Ramirez leaps off the wall but CANt get it!! I am down 3-1 to Tampa Bay op of the 8th I get bases loaded 0 outs so I figure I am good to go Nomar @ the plate 3-1 count and I swing at junk and pop up to shallow right and don't score. No problem I figure Manny's up 12 out bases jacked, I ground into the 6-4-3 DP. Just like that I go to the bottom of the 8th down 3-1 and Pedro is out the game replaced by Mendoza. Tampa goes down 1-2-3 in the 8th. 9th inning I got Giambi on 2nd 2 outs Walker at the plate 2 strikes I get a low fastball that I barely caught up to and bam a shot to right center going going gone. It clears the fence by about an inch if that!!! Tie game .I end up hitting a jack with hillenbrtand in the 10th and using Mendoza and Embry to close it out. This is only my first game can it get any better!! Just though I would share a great game story.

Awesome game! I've had a few nail biters as well. Not surpised about Giambi hitting a long ball - he's my team HR leader so far (i'm 9-5). I really think he's going to have a good year in real life. Runs in the family i guess.

Games that I hear like this want me to get the game more and more.. but I have to wait for the PS2 version to come out.
Anyways, Giambi looks great seeing as he has been underlooked basically his whole career.

yeah me too JhB. It sucks that the ps2 version was delayed. Ive been playing ASB 03 to hold me over and I had an awesome game today. I was playing an exhibition between the stros and I was the cubs playing at wrigley. It was a pitchers duel throughout, with lieber and miller only giving up 1 run each thru 8 innings. In the top of the ninth, the stros get biggio and lugo on 1st and 2nd with no outs. I get bagwell to pop out, and then berkman proceeds to CREAM a 3 run dinger off of lieber onto waveland ave. So i go into the bottom half of the 9th down 4-1. My first 2 guys strike out, and then i pinch hit for lieber. the ph stynes, gets down in the count 0-2, but I managed to foul off 4 straight tough pitches, and work the count full. On a 3-2 slider that just barely misses the plate, I draw a walk. Deshields then lays down a drag bunt and beats it out. 2 on, 2 out. Mueller gets on with another walk, BASES LOADED, 2 outs..... and up steps Sammy Sosa..........First pitch, low and outside: BALL 1, I foul off the next 2 and am down in the count 1-2. Next pitch Sammy gets a hold of a low inside fastball and absolutely creams it!!!!!!! i had to have hit the ball 450 ft +................. except the damn ball hooked foul!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then I worked the count to 3-2 and I get another fastball, this time, its right down the center of the plate. In the last possible instant, i switch from contact to power and nail one to straight away center!!!!!!!!!!! GRAND SLAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!................................ ...............................................at least i thought. the damn center fielder scales the wall and brings back what would have been a walk off granny!!!!!!!! whatta game!!!!!! Cant wait to get ASB 04
