I'd say Roberts IS a top tier lead off man.

But I hope the O's make all these deals...

Take this one, and Bedard to the M's and they've got a decent line-up... something I'd need them to have cause I get all their games here.

    They'd have

    CF: Adam Jones
    2B: Cedeno
    RF: Markakis
    1B: Jeff Clement
    3B: Mora
    LF: Whoever they can find
    C: Hernandez

Whatever happens, I think the line-up will be young and exciting to watch.

I would move Pie if they could get a quality pitcher, but that isn't out there. Colvin is one of the few decent kids they have in the farm system, and they need Hill as their pitching is thin.

No need to get jobbed for a roid player, who they want to move anyway. It can be done for less if Baltimore really wants to do it. That being said, I won't hold my breath anymore on this deal.
No way Hendry makes that deal. For all those guys Bedards name better be in the deal or the Cubs will be getting raped.

I think he is too, but he isn't a top tier player. They want the Cubs best talent. That's too much to give IMO.

If The O's end up with Ronny Cedeno and put him in a starting role, good luck to them and their fans. He's been one of the most frustrating Cubs players to watch the past several years.

I agree. Unless Bedard is included in this trade, this better not happen.

After what B-More got for Tejada, they cant be expecting too much for a player well below his ability like Roberts.

Well below? Are you kidding me? Can hit .300-.310 with 10-15 home runs in the leadoff spot, not to mention can steal 40-50 bases, hit 40-50 doubles, and get on base at a .380+ clip. I'd rather have him over Miggy, and even if I wouldn't, he's still vastly underrated.

Dont get me wrong, Roberts is a fine player, but i'm more than a little thrown off by the steroid/HGH stuff. I have a hard time believing those stats were natural, and I wonder how he'll do next year.

He's always been a guy I've liked, so if they did get him, I wouldnt be overly disappointed, but I dont want him for all of the guys being discussed.

I agree, Roberts is one of the most underrated players in the league.

With that said, that is way to much to give up for Brian Roberts.
