    White Sox sign Octavio Dotel

    2 years for $11 million

Good move by the White Sox. I just hope they don't stop there.

    Bullpen fixed..........

Last year's model was a train wreck.

Kenny did a nice job fixing up the 08' model!

      Lol. Have fun with him!

In all seriousness, I hope he returns to form and good health. He was fun to watch when he was good with the A's.

If he can remain healthy, and still has his velocity I think it could be a good pickup. That's a big "IF" though.

Why strengthen the bullpen when you can't get a lead to begin with?

Not even close. There is no way to know if a "bullpen" is fixed. The bullpen is a crapshoot year in and year out.

Especially with Dotel who is a crapshoot year in and year out. Seems like an awful lot of money to pay for a guy with his recent injury history.

All I know is that he pitched quite well with the Royals last year. I think he'll be a valuable guy in the Sox bullpen.

Just remember the Sox won just as many games as the Cubs did last October!

You guys are right, it's not fixed, but I will take the bunch we have going into 08 over the garbage we ran out there in 07!

I wonder what "is closer to being toast than what he was three or four years ago" looks like when written sidearm.

I guess we all have our own interpretation of "pitching well". From what Ive seen, he's had trouble finding the strikezone ever since the injuries. He had a WHIP of 1.52 with the Royals in 24innings. That's horrible for a relief pitcher. He did do a bit better with the Braves though, atleast in terms of walking people.

                          Yup.

                          Bad signing imo.

I like Kenny Williams track record of signing 'often injuried' players. Most of them have worked out for the best. From the Jermaine Dye signing in 2005 to the Jim Thome signing in 2006. Kenny has had a couple of players pan out.
