Re: Slider help needed
I have not been having that problem. I recently moved my sim slider to 8 (3 notches right of default) and I have been drawing plenty of walks.Actually...believe it or not from my physique... I'm a light eater - Clay T. Shaver -

Re: Slider help needed
I think it might also depend on what level you play on. When I was on MVP, I had the slider up to 6 and the pitching was d@m near perfect. I bumped down to All-Star and I seem to be able to work the count better. I still have a "happy swing finger" though, and need to settle down at the plate.Currently playing:
MLB 21 The Show
College Hoops 2K8
Pro Evolution Soccer 2018
NHL 19
NCAA Football 14/11
NBA 2K16
Madden 20Comment

Re: Slider help needed
I just bought the game this weekend, and I have been playing on All-Star with the Sim slider and Foul Ball slider bumped up 2 notches. Some games I still swing too much, but when I calm down and work the count I am able to draw around 2-3 walks per game. My eye has gotten pretty good, and the umps calls seem pretty good to me. Not sure if it matters, but I also bat with the "low" camera.LET'S GO FLYERS, YANKEES, DOLPHINS!!!Comment

Cook
Did you change the pticher control slider as well?
Ive noticed that it really does make a difference for the control of both you and the CPU pitcher.
I have noticed that most of the time, on a 3-1 or 3-2 count that the CPU has a tendancy to just throw strikes to certain guys.Vi Veri Universum Vivus Vici

Re: Slider help needed
Blaise,
No I didn't change the pitch control slider yet. I drew 3 walks in the last game i played, so maybe it was just me be overanxious. Also they really call the high strike so I need to get used to that. need to play more games on my current settings just to see if it is me or my settings.

Re: Slider help needed
Cook,
Have you seen them call that BS low strike as well? Damn that pisses me off. Its not that I dont draw walks (on MVP i get about 3 a game) but it seems that they throw a strike on a 3-1 or 3-2 pitch 75% of the time. On 3-1 it doesnt bother me, but on 3-2 it kinda does. But I also foul alot of pitches off, so it kinda makes up for it.
From what the Slider definitions tell me, the Pitcher control slider controls the disparity between locating pitches. So FB would be easier to locate, and Braking pitches whould be easier.
If you want a copy of this, Id be happy to send it to you, or I can point you to the Highheat2004.net forums. Its in the console section, and a guy (serial mike) has a thread at the top of the page and a link in the thread. He says he got this info from 3do.
While Im at it, I might as well post my slider settings, you may want to try them, Im still fine tuning:
MVP
Pitches:
FB & Cutter - 9
All breaking Pitches - 8
All Offspeed (ChUp, Fosh, Palm) - 7
Misc
Errors - 5
Injury - 5
Pitch Count - 6
Pitcher Control - 8
Pitcher Fatigue - 7
Running
Baserunner - 4
Fielder - 5
Throwing
Fielder - 5 or 6
Cpu Catcher - 1
Human Catcher - 2 or 3 (to Offset the fact that the AI pitcher rarely lets you get a decent lead, Also, Im using the mets, and still only throw out 30% of the guys, so its on point in that regards, IMHO)
Hitting
Cpu - 3
Power - 3 or 4
Human - 4 or 5
Power - 4
Foul Balls - 7
Contact Ease - 5 or 6
Simulation - 7 or 8
These work pretty well, but I will say with the Sim slider on 8, I seem to get alot of dribblers and pop-ups, which is not a problem, but on 7, the game seems to be alittle more even between me and the CPU, so I think I would say 7 is good for now. Maybe in a month or 2, after ive really gotten a handle on the game, 8 will provide a richer experienceVi Veri Universum Vivus Vici
