    What will make/break WSB

I am enjoying ASB quite a bit so it won't be the end of the world if WSB turns out to be not so great. But WSB is beating ASB quite handily in the few reviews that are out of the games so far, so this is only making me look forward to WSB more. And last year, I ended up playing WSB quite a bit more than any of the other baseball games. But what will make/break WSB for me, is the AI and difficulty. I usually suck at sports games, but even I could shut out the computer with my 5th starter on the highest difficulty level. Batting on the other hand was not so easy so games would end up being 2-1, 1-0 constantly. ASB so far is proving to be more of a challenge as far as pitching and about the same difficulty in terms of batting.

I know there will be sliders in this year's game, but those don't always fix big gameplay issues. Take NHL2K3 for example...even with extreme settings there still isn't enough scoring. And many people have to slant the sliders in the computer's favor in NBA2K3 to be challenged on the highest difficulty level.

I can put up with even the flaws that were in WSB last year...but I won't be keeping the game if every game turns out to be low scoring again.

Isn't it good if the games are low scoring? That way it's like a real game.

You must have not played WSB 2K2 for Dreamcast. One of the biggest complaints in that game that there was too much scoring. Scores like 20-15, 15-14. They used to jokingly call that game "World Series Softball". You think ASB took a long time to play? If this year's game has low scores, I'm all for it.

It would be great if the scores generated by human games were somewhat near the MLB average and not 2-1, 1-0 everytime. I'm not the only one who complained last year that pitching was too easy even on the highest difficulty level. It's no fun if the team stats are all screwy compared to the rest of the league during a franchise.
