In the few games that ive played, the cpu hitters will definitely chase balls that are reasonably outside the zone, although you wont really see them chasing pitches in the other batters box, which is realistic. They seem to chase more after youve set them up by painting the corners

Agreed, it has to be the right situation. If you're ahead in the count then they definitely will chase a bad pitch!

Yes its true like these guys said...The CPU AI is very well done AND they vary between hitters as well based on their PATIENCE rating ( or whatever its called ). Some guys are free swingers while others will force you to throw to them.

This game has so much realism under the hood that it's scary. I dont know Jeter's actual role in the game but I must say I'm very proud to say this game is very authentic in a variety of ways that I keep seeing each time I play the game.

As I posted in another topic, When I saw the CPU put in a BETTER defensive catcher with a stronger throwing arm in the bottom of the ninth to protect it's lead, It blew me away.

I was reading a post on the ASB board on ign and a guy made a post saying that the cpu hits too many hits to the outfield. Has anybody seen this?

Re: Anyone find the pitching too easy?

Actually I have ot disagree on the pitching.

I've had to turn off the pitching aid just so I don't abuse it.

I'm playing as an expansion team the Virginia Aviators and i'm doing pretty well.

My problem with the pitching is that I have to make a concious effort the throw balls. Now let me explain how this is different from rela baseball. Yes on a 1-2 count the pitcher won't be right down the middle but I also think bad pitchers have too much control. It would be nice to see players with bad control all over the place. This is improved over last year were pitchers wouldn't miss by 3 inches. But I think it could be done better.

Plus I also don't see the different between a Randy Johnson and a Scott Elarton when I'm facing them. In fact I think the CPU controls the speed of the fastball according to the situation. I've noticed that sometimes a 95 MPH pitch will come to the place slower than an 89 fastball but the difference is the situation. That 95 pitch comes at a time that I'm creaming the picther.

One thing I wish they would have done. Was make the pitcheing cursor change like the batting cursor. So if your pitcher has his stuff today it gets real small. If he doesn't then the curosr is big and you will be all over the place. The small icon needs to go...imho.

It's not bad but I don't think it's as realistic as HH.

Re: Anyone find the pitching too easy?

i spoke too soon...i was 21-4 heading into my 4 game series with the dodgers
                        they are 18-8
first game i lost 3 to 2 in the bottom of the 12th
second game im up 5 to 0 after burrell's second 2 run homer of the day
bottom of the fifth they get 3 consecutive singles and lo duca comes to the plate
he smacks it deep center field...but no homerun cam so i got a chance to steal it....byrd goes up but cant come down with it and its 5 to 4
so i bring in mesa for the bottom of the ninth with the score 5 to 4 and he gives up a single, after a sac bunt there's one out and a man on second for lo duca who lines a shot down the third base line...tie game
                        next batter shawn green singles
1st and 3rd one out for mcgriff
he hits a sac fly to right and i lose my second consecutive game
you got to love this game
by the way i play on all star with default batting settings
