    Budget question

I will be getting the game either tomorrow or Friday (Blame Canada! ) but I have a question and wonder if anyone has an answer.

Let's say it's the trade deadline and your team is pretty much maxed out on their budget but you feel like you need a major player to make a run down the stretch can you trade for a high price player and go overbudget or are the budgets "hard capped"?

    Just curious

        Re: Budget question

Every team has their own capped budget of funds......differnet teams will have different budgets based on the size of their market ( if you set the market to REALISTIC before you start your franchise )

So if you are a small market team, your budget may be 400 pts or something while the NY Yankess may have 700 or something......Setting the MARKET SIZE to REALISTIC will reflect the real life struggles that a small size GM has to face to compete with the 'big boys' However, Budgets are not FINAL. Improving your team's performance and constistantly putting a competitive team on the field every year, can increase your budget for the next season. And could also eventually lead to a Future Stadium which could definitely take your small market team to a bigger market and increased budget which in turn will allow you to dump more funds in your SCOUTING, COACHING, MEDICAL and TRAINING STAFFS as well as hire more expensive players and groom better younger talent....this game is extremely deep in the GM area.

but as my friend said above, your budget is your budget and when your funds are out, you cannot go over them in spending
