    Best game attended in person?

The box score of the game played on August 4, 1985 at the Yankee Stadium, between the White Sox (4) and the Yankees (1).

The weekend before my birthday so we got pretty good seats. Third base side, a little down the line in shallow left.
Rudi Law played left for the white sox, and everyone in that section was yelling R-U-U-U-U-D-I over and over. Also Winfield made this great throw to get someone (can't remember who) trying to reach third.

Didn't realize at the time, but it was the last time I went to Yankee stadium because we moved to south Florida fall of '86.
I did get to see the start of the Marlins in '93 and was in early twenties so I got to a lot of games.

I gave a description and forgot to mention the most important part and that was it was Tom Seaver's 300th win.

        I can't pick just one:

        http://www.baseball-reference.com/bo...00307200.shtml

July 20, 2003 - Mets @ Braves: The Braves were down to the Mets 8-3 going into the bottom of the 8th and Javy Lopez hits a pinch hit three run homer to spark an eight run 8th as the Braves win 11-8.

        http://www.baseball-reference.com/bo...00708020.shtml

August 2, 2007 - Astros @ Braves: The Braves have a comfortable 9-5 lead in the top of the 8th but Edgar Renteria sprains his ankle in the inning and as a result Chipper Jones has to play shortstop for the first time in years and left fielder Willie Harris has to come in from the outfield to play 3rd base because Atlanta has used all of its position players. Mike Lamb hits a pinch hit grand slam off of Atlanta reliever Raphael Soriano in that 8th inning to tie the game at 9-9. The Astros score two in the top of the 12th to take an 11-9 lead only to see Atlanta's Matt Diaz hit a two run homer in the bottom of the inning to tie the game back up. Atlanta eventually goes on to lose in the 12-11 in the 14th inning.

Honestly most of the games i've been to have been somewhat close games. I guess i'll list the most memorable. I believe it was against the Twins and a friend and I were baking under the heat of the sun so we decided to leave after 10 innings. We arrive home and found out the game ended the next inning! ARGH!

Life long Royals fan and I've only ever seen one game in Kauffman Stadium. Wouldn't you know it would be the worst loss in Royals' history. I think the A's won like 24-1.

There were a couple of UMass Basketball games last year that were pretty good. Before that I saw an amazing game between UMass and UNC-Charlotte.

I was only 9 at the time, so it's a bit hazy, but it was definitely the best game I've seen in person. Where else could I have seen such illustrious players as Mickey Morandini, Darren Daulton, Steve Trachsel, and Randall Kirk Myers? Toss in the six combined runs in the ninth inning and Shawon Dunston's walkoff heroics, and the Wrigley Field crowd left feeling pretty upbeat.

God, I need to get back to a game sometime. I haven't been in over five years.

I don't know that the game was that great, but my favorite game I went to was the last at Qualcomm Stadium. I was crying my eyes out by about the 7th when I finally realized that we were done it that stadium where I spent a lot of childhood life. And the ceremony afterward didn't help either.

This is the best in terms of craziness, but very disappointing...

Cubs were leading the Brewers 8-6 in Milwaukee in the 9th. Sosa had already hit HRs 64 and 65 (I realize he cheated, but let's all be honest, 1998 was a very fun year to watch baseball because of Sosa and McGwire) and Rod Beck had come in to close the 9th. With 2 outs and the bases loaded he got a routine fly ball to left field (this is in a playoff race, mind you) and Brant Brown flat out misses it. Everyone comes around to score and the Brewers win 9-8.

God it sucked, but is probably the most memorable game I've been to.

I can still hear Ron Santo's echo from that game.

As far as best game, do little league games count? Otherwise the best game would be a Cubs-Soxs game at Wrigley in 2005, the game were Ross Gload hit a Grand Slam, in the first inning, which was ruled a foul ball.

                            Great topic.

I can't pick just one, so I'll break it down.

                            1978 All-Star Game.
First and only All-Star game I have attended, tie game into the bottom of the 8th Goose Gossage comes in and does his best impression of Ebby Calvin 'Nuke' LaLoosh gives up 4 runs and the NL takes it. I was 14 and loved every minute of that game.

1998 World Series Game 4. First and only World Series I attended. Wasn't much of a game but it was the World Series.

1998 World Series Game 4 box score between the San Diego Padres and New York Yankees.

1998 Post Season Padres vs. Astros division series game 4. Not much of a game but it was a series win and Qualcom was rockin

                            http://www.baseball-reference.com/bo...99810040.shtml

Regular season, so many games to choose from - 1977 - Lou Brock breaks Ty Cobb's career stolen base mark with number 893 in San Diego, August 29. April 1, 1997 Padres CRUSH the mets 12 - 5 and go back-to-back-to-back. Arizona Diamondbacks vs San Diego Padres
April 10, 1998 - Steve Finley comes up in the 9th inning 3 on, 2 out down 4 - 2 GRAND SLAM Padres win.

                            Here's my favorite;

Los Angeles Dodgers vs San Diego Padres September 12, 1998 - Padres were down 7-0 in the 5th inning came back and won 8-7 to win the division and the best part it was against the hated dodgers.

The box score of the game played on September 12, 1998 at the Qualcomm Stadium, between the Dodgers (7) and the Padres (8).
