    Phil Hughes' Blog

Pretty cool, it's very casual and down to earth.

Also, an article on the Times about it...

Yeah, his blog is pretty cool. Him, Joba, Duncan, and Kennedy are all Halo 3 fanatics. I wish I could get their GamerTags. I've got Ricky Weeks on my friends list, he's my Boss's cousin.

It is cool, he seems like a really normal guy.

He also posts on some baseball trading card forum.

It's pretty cool, I've been reading it since he started it about a month ago. It's always cool to see athletes blog.

Phil Hughes (21, pitcher for the Yankees) started his own blog about a month ago, and while I'm all for athletes blogging, one man can't possibly be this lame, right?

Just take a look at the site and you'll see what I mean. It's more of his daily diary than a blog, actually.

But don't take my word for it. The New York Times wrote a piece about Hughes' blog in which they point out what I assume they believe to be the "highlights" of the site. Some examples that are sure to keep even the most casual fan riveted:

-- "There are also illuminating and inoffensive slices of a young player’s life. On Jan. 31, Hughes admitted, 'I can’t get enough Food Network!'"

-- "After the Super Bowl, he wrote, 'That catch by Tyree in the 4th quarter had my house shaking.'"

-- "On Feb. 17, he let a teammate have a turn: 'Jeff Marquez says hi. He wanted me to post that.'"

-- He held a contest "for fans to guess [his] favorite quote from 'The Office.'"

Wow. Thrilling. Please, Philip, tell me more! Who else wants to say "hi" to me?!

While I applaud young Hughes for his newfound interest in blogging, I think my man needs to take a page outta Agent Zero's playbook, and, you know, write something that's actually interesting. You're a 21 year-old ballplayer in one of the most exciting cities in the world. There is absolutely no way your blog should be making me feel like your life is more boring than mine.

Ya Hughes is just one of those guys that was just raised right. Dude has a wife already and he's only 21 and i think he's been married for at least a year. He's on the Yankees, he could live one of the best lives in the world but he chooses to settle down with a wife. gotta have respect for that.

Anyone else think Hughes looks like Nick Swardson?

                Are you sure?

                NYTimes says he's single.

Yeah... Because marrying young has ANYTHING to do with how one was raised... Even if he were raised that way, it is still his choice. Just like there are plenty of people who were 'raised right' that aren't married at a young age. The two really have nothing to do with each other.

In fact, it would probably be prudent of a young guy who is going to come into a LOT of money to NOT marry. Be engaged, and stay with the woman you love. But sudden change in money can sour any relationship. This way, you don't lose half that money when it potentially goes sour. Young marriages hardly EVER work.
