First off it's a HH bashing post made specifically on an ASB forum.

Second. I'm not a fanboy of any game or any company.

I play EA Sports football, Microsoft Basketball, Konami Soccer and I just want a decent baseball game.

Because ASB is first out of the gate its hard to gauge it along the same lines of WSB or MVP.

As for real pitches. There's no reasoning behind offering things that are ultra realistic in a video game. We have to remember it's still a video game and the small minority that can hit real life speeds of pitchers doesn't mean that it's a good feature to have.

I think we all forget, and I do at time forget it's a baseball game and I'm supposed to have fun with it.

So with that said, I'm having some fun with ASB. I like the expnasion feature what I don't like is that the game is incrediably easy even on all-star mode. I'm batting .330 20 games in to the season with less than great hitters.

Jigga J to tha rizzo, What settings are you using?

I think that if you can generate "too" much offense with all-star difficulty, normal pitching, 3d icon, no strike-zone against top-flight pitching, then you have indeed outgrown ASB.

Anything less, and its simply time to use more difficult settings.

Before you write that off as a fanboy post... you should know that I've prepaid for both High Heat (picking it up tomorrow!) and World Series and have NO plans to buy ASB.

Just thought this guy made some really interesting points. Sometimes a lot of us tend to overlook titles based on reputation/name alone and buy others based purely on hype.

And I also don't see why the thread was moved here... it compares HH and ASB.

Just thought this guy made some really interesting points. Sometimes a lot of us tend to overlook titles based on reputation/name alone and buy others based purely on hype.

Because this is a pretty one-sided slam on High Heat, then an itemized extolling of ASB's virtues.

This isn't a comparision. This is "ASB is so much better than High Heat". Raves about how great All Star Baseball is go in this forum.

I think that's the verdict this guy ends up with. But it seems to be a very honest assessment.

For the record, I don't agree with him about most of it. However, I'm an older gamer who has played all the same games in the past, and lately I've found myself buying into the hype rather than thinking for myself.

The point wasn't to slam High Heat. The point was to get the perspective of someone from outside gaming circles. I found it really interesting for that reason.
