I think that's the verdict this guy ends up with. But it seems to be a very honest assessment.

For the record, I don't agree with him about most of it. However, I'm an older gamer who has played all the same games in the past, and lately I've found myself buying into the hype rather than thinking for myself.

The point wasn't to slam High Heat. The point was to get the perspective of someone from outside gaming circles. I found it really interesting for that reason.

I think it's just a fan boy post. No one in the right mind thinks that ASB is the best gameplay out there. It has a lot of features no other game has but the best sim that's a stretch.

Even ASB fanboys concede there are some problems with it.

I do. But the overall fun factor of the game slightly outweighs that of HH. I can't speak abotut MVP or WSB, since I haven't played them.

no fanboy here, i've been playing HH for years.... but ASB04 blows HH04 out of the water. All-around.

I dont consider myself a fanboy, last year I bought ASB, took it back when WSB came out. I longed for high heat, signed all the cheesy email petitions to get it on xbox, and now after getting ASB for this year, I feel guilty. I dont think I will buy another baseball game, except to play online. ASB is too fulfilling. I think the gameplay is very good, and really captures the onfield action. I have a few gripes, but every game I finish, I cant wait to play again. Cant say any other sports game has made me feel this way in years.

You couldnt have said it better. I was going to just post exactly what you wrote. I am such a loyalist to HH but after getting ASB2004 I am going to wait and see if HH is that much better.

I did the same as you last year. Bought ASB2003 and returned it for WSB. I vowed never to buy another ASB title but I was so hungry for some baseball this year and they were releasing the game a month before 3do and Sega, I had to give it a second shot. I am glad I did. If HH franchise is better then I may have to give it a shot. Other than that ASB will stay in the XBOX 24/7 for atleast the next 162 days!
