    What a pitchers duel!

I was playing a game as the Brewers vs. the Giants. The starting pitchers were Matt Kinney and Kurt Ainsworth. The game went 12 scoreless innings! In the bottom of the 10th, I had runners at the corners with one out and grounded into a double play. In the top of the 11th, the Giants had a runner at second with two outs. They hit a base hit, and Sanchez was able to gun the man out at home for the third out. It was 0-0 going into the 13th. I brought in De Los Santos, and he gave up a leadoff double. The next guy grounded to second, so the runner moved up to third. I moved the infield in to try to get the out at home on a ground ball. So what happens? A bloop single that would have been an easy out if I'd have left the infield alone. In the bottom of the 13th, the Giants brought in Christianson, who had no control. He walked the leadoff man, Sanchez. I then stole second. I tried to sacrifice him to third with Young, and he was able to beat out the throw at first, so I had runners at the corners for the heart of my order. Jenkins came up and was walked, making the bases loaded. Sexson came up and was also walked, making it a 1-1 tie. Vanderwal then came up, and guess what? He drew a third straight walk, and I won the game 2-1! What a wild game! Four walks to five batters in the bottom of the 13th.

I played 2 games last night. Game 1 I controlled the Braves vs. the Cubs. Was a great pitching duel between Maddux and Prior. I won the game with a 3-0 shutout. Star of the game was Maddux with a complete game, 9k, 0 BB performance. Offensive star was Marcus Giles who went 3-4 with 2 solo HR and an RBI double. You may look at that and think, no way is that realistic, but for some reason Giles just was all over Prior's pitches. While mowing the rest of my team down, I was all over it with Giles. The double came off a down an away pitch that i poked to the opposite field, and the 2 HR came off big mistakes up in the zone.

Was my first truly GREAT game so far.

2nd game i had to do an in-game save. I'm deadlocked in a 0-0 tie in the 12th inning between my Phillies and the Pirates at PNC. I wanted to play it out but after stranding Abreu at 3rd in the 11th i had to call it a night at 12:30.

I went up against Pedro last night in my expansion team opening day. Chuck Finley is the ace of my staff. Pedro was on until the 8th. I was able to only garner 5 hits throughout the whole game. Finley kept me in the game the whole time only giving a HR to Nomar and a run scored by Trot Nixon. I was able to tie it up and go into the 10th before my bullpen was exhausted. Dan Pleasac and Matt Mantei came in for relief and by the 10th they were both dead. With Ugueth Castillo on the mound the sox were able to put a score on the board in the bottem of the 10th to win the game. David Ortiz hit a blooper to right that would have been caught if the outfielder was sitting on *** watching it come towards him.

Oh well, I wont win them all with my team and giving a win to Pedro is fine in my book.

I am really starting to like this game. At first I was disappointed but the franchise mode has completely redeemed the game. The pitcher/batter duel is very good. Im hoping that HH isnt as good as it used to be or else I am going to end up owning a few baseball games this year!

I wouldn't call it a pitcher's duel but I was playing the Negro League All-Stars. I was using the Yankee legends team. We went up against Satchel Paige and he no hit us through 7. He has the nastiest changeup I've ever seen.

I also just had a pitchers duel, I was the Phillies against the Marlins. Millwood and Burnett were both on the mound. Both pitched into the 8th giving up no runs and only 3 hits. The excellent relief came in with vladimir nunez and 2 of my middle relievers not giving up any runs. Finally, in the 11th, i started up a rally and ended up scoring 2 runs. Then I knew it was over with Mesa coming in,

How the hell do you guys have pitchers duels in this game? The last one i remember having was the first game of my expansion in last years game, Jeff Carpenter vs. Roger Clemens. I gave one run in 8 IP (NY was the home team), but the combined K's for both sides were over 25. Also, the hits for each team was lower than five.
