Yeah I wouldn't be worried about it though. Lowry's gonna be fine. People put too much in these spring training games. Hell, after last year people thought Brad Eldred was going to be the next Adam Dunn. He's um... not.

Yeah, look what ST last year did for Terrmel Sledge... he was a monster in ST, now he's playing Japan.

Looks like him and Daniel Cabrera switched arms.

Exactly. Pitchers are getting loose, working on mechanics. trying new pitches, etc. I've never put much stock in spring training success, or lack thereof, especially with veteran players.

Oh I don't think it means anything other than he had a very bad day. I am surprised at any manager leaving someone in for nine BB's though.

If he can cut down the walks, he would be a 15 to 20 game winner, but those walks kill him. Though a lot of times he gets out of those jams. I hope he can put it together.

Not terribly surprising, the guy has trouble hitting the plate even when he's in regular season form.

Thank god the Yankees never went through with that rumored Matsui trade for him.

If I were a Giants fan, I'd be a little concerned right now after Zito's adventure and this. But it is just Spring Training.

I'm pretty sure Giants fans are already concerned coming into this season having Bengie Molina as their cleanup hitter. This might be one of the worst offenses of all time.

They are the easy pick for last place in the NL... and I'm going with the easy pick.

There's no doubt they're going to be an offensive embarrassment.

                              Re: Yikes Noah Lowry

Being a huge Giants fan, I have already surrendered to the fact that they will not win a lot. I feel bad for Cain and Lincecum because if they had an offense like the Red Sox or Yankees, they would compete for Cy Youngs, but when you will not get much run support it will be hard to even get votes. I am not trying to bring down Beckett because he is a tremendous pitcher but when you get the run support he did last year, it is much easier to pitch well and attack the batters.

Whereas, Cain last year time after time had to pitch into later innings tied 0-0, which makes it much harder to attack the batters. You try to be too fine cuz you dont wanna risk giving up a run whereas when you are up 5-0 after the first inning like Beckett gets sometimes you can afford to attack a batter even when there is a man on cuz it will not matter as much if it gets hit out. I also know it was not purely the Giants offense that kept Cains stats down as the bullpen blew 5 of his games when he left with the lead (I hate Scott Hairston). But Cain had 3 games where he gave up one hit over 6 or more innings and he got the loss or no decision in all of them.

Anyways, I am excited to see the young guys get more of a chance this year and take advantage of the speed we have. I feel like the Giants might surprise people this year (meaning close to .500 as opposed to .250) but I would not be surprised if they dont.
