Help With PS2 Game Difficulty Settings

Okay... I love the depth of the game - that's not the problem...

But 6 games into my franchise with the Reds, I'm 5-1 (could happen), but my team ERA is 1.33. I'm playing on Veteren level, but the other team never seems to really put up much of a fight. Granted, these games were against the Pirates and Cubs - but still....

Offensively - everything seems fine - Boone's off to a hot start (.535, 2 HR, 7 RBI, 1.567 OBPS), Dunn's OBP is .440, Larkin and Larson are starting off kinda slow... all of these numbers seem great.

I just hope that the computer will start putting up a fight. Anybody know something I don't?

If you are wanting to make the game harder, bump the skill level up to All-Star. And to make pitching a little tougher, turn off the pitching aid. This should make the game more difficult.

Then u can do what I do...........

Yea, all star level is very very very hard....It pisses me off most the time, the cpu is so good at the level. Here's an idea also, you can change the level in the middle of the game by going to the controller screen. You might do something like, play veteran level on odd innings and all star on even innings, see what kind of mix that gives you. I thought about that, haven't tried it yet. Of course, you could also do all star when the cpu bats, and veteran when you bat. All kinds 0f possibilities. I definately agree with the last post, turn the pitching aid off...I don't want to be able to pin point my pitches...and I think turn the vibration off, and it won't vibrate when you leave the strike zone...that way you're kinda guessing, but you still have pretty good control. I've given up more hits and homeruns since doing this. Hope this helps

Well... I feel stupid. I actaully have been playing on the All-Star level. And I still have a team ERA of 1.33. How about that?

I'm with you man, I cant stop winning. I even try to blow the game by leaving pitches right down the middle.
BUT, the teams I have played on my winning streak are, the Phillies, the Mets, the Pirates, and the Cardinals. So Imay just be playing against weaker teams. Well after another series with the Cards, then the Cubs and Rockies. I will play the Marlins and the Braves for 10 straight games. If I dont start losing soon, I'm gonna be pissed.
