    The batting in MVP.

Hi im new here and ive been reading about WSB and MVP for sometime now. Ive read most of the impressions and I still cant get a feel for the batting. It looks like it would be way to easy, just time it and swing. Are the pitches so deceptive that timing the pitch can be a challenge but fun? The videos dont help because all I see is hits.

Anybody have any insight on something that I may have missed that makes the batting a challenge?

    Thanks

I don't think you can find out more about the hitting if the tutorial movies on EA couldn't help you. You may have to wait unitl next week to get some hands on descriptions.

I know it's long, but check out the impressions thread in this forum. I'm sure that exact thing was brought up.

I am very worried about the hitting model in MVP. It is all timing based and too simple. IT appears that strike outs in MVP are going to be very rare after playing about 10 to 15 games. The pitching model looks great, but it seems that most hardcore video baseball players will probably have problems with the hitting model. I guess it all depend on what you like in video baseball games. If you like lots of eye candy and some mixture of arcade and simulation components, MVP may be your favorite game. Those who prefer stat accuracy and realism may enjoy HH 2004 or ASB 2004 more.

hitting cant be to simple thats the way it is supposed to be not difficult and not dragging a cursor all over the screen yes this game may not be the sim that HH or any of the others are but i am more then positive that this baseball game is where you and your friends can just sit for hours and have a blast

Personally I think this new hitting thing in MVP is going to be good cause its like real life.

EX: If a pitcher is locating his pitches on the outside...You hit it the other way. In this game you are going to be taught how to do it. You will not be able to Pull a ball on the outside of the plate and so on.

                    So I think its good.

I watched thos tutorial videos (missed those) and that helped alot. It looks like the pitches will be able to disrupt your timing. Like you said, this might be the best mutiplayer baseball game this year.

If you read the tutorial, its actually more advanced than High Heat as it not only helps to swing the ball in the area its hit, but you can also do a lot more situational hitting such as move a runner to third with a grounder to the right side or try for a sac fly. I think its the most advanced idea yet. Dont know how it will play out though.
