2007 #1 Draft Pick, David Price IMPRESSED vs. The Yankees Today

he came entered the game in the bottom of the 7th. This would be the first time ever, that he faced a major league lineup according to Yankees announcers, Michael Kay and Kenny Singleton.

His first batter was Yankees catcher, Francisco Cervelli. He solidly hit Cervelli on his left elbow 2 or 3 pitches into the at-bat. It was loud and Cervelli crumpled to the ground. But he got up talked off the trainer, Girardi and Pena, and went to first.

The Price got down to business.

He struck out Shelly Duncan, struck out Jason Lane (98mph heater on the outside corner that Lane was late catching up to), and he struck out Wilson Betemit.

Even the Yankees fans at Legends Field were excited....

the dude is gonna be impressive for sure... but that is hardly a "major league" lineup.

I know what you're saying, but lets not jump the gun. We'll see what happens when he faces the A-Rod's and Jeter's of the Yanks.

Still, nothing taken away from him. He's gonna be a stud. 6'6" and a 99 mph fastball... D-Rays should be excited.

He's, without a doubt, the future ace of the staff. With Kazmir, Shields, and Garza? Damn.

The Sox are gonna have a lot of trouble =P

I jumped on the bandwagon after the spring training game against the Yankees. The kid's insane.

Why did you have to dig up a thread that's 5 months old?

You had me thinking Price is on the Rays roster already .
