incorrect official scoring
It's not a huge deal...but I hadn't seen this mentioned and was wondering if anyone else came across this yet. My starting pitcher just got credited with a win though he only pitched 4 innings. I'm surprised the real stat wonks haven't been talking about this.Tags: None -
Re: incorrect official scoring
It happened to someone else after 4 2/3 innings also. Oh well, not make or break....I haven't come across any game in my life time that didn't have one or two bugs. High Heat's 3rd out run scored, Madden won't credit an interception thrown if there is a holding penalty on the run back...and on and on and on. I think they put bugs in games just to have something to improve upon the next year. It's video game life. -

In spring training, pitchers can get a win pitching only 4 innings. Check a boxscore in the paper. That might explain it

I said the same thing in an earlier post...I haven't seen this happen yet, but I was wondering if these rare instances were in spring training games or not. But you are correct, spring training is different.Comment

Re: incorrect official scoring
I just got a win with Tomko who threw 3.1! He allowed 5 runs, but I was up 6-5 when I took him out. I brought in Joey Hamilton and he went 3.1 but no win for him. He deserved the win, but they don't recognize the 5 inning thing I guess.Comment
