Number of Users able to play in MVP

In the first video posted by OS for MVP it goes into "Game Options" and it shows that there is 4 Controllers available. Does this mean that four users can play at a time, play on the same team?

I think I heard that it shows 4 because of having 4 controller ports. So you select which controller you are using but there was only one controller per team.

Thanks, it would be nice though if two or more users could play at a time on teams.

I think ASB is the only game that allows you to do this. Since I game with 3 friends a lot that is a check in ASB's category.
