buying a jersey and I got a question

I'm looking to buy a Reds jersey. I wanted to get a replica with Brandon Phillips' number (4) on the back but I don't see the option to do that. Is it possible to get player-specific replica jerseys or are all replica jerseys completely blank on the back?

Or just get an authentic one so you don't look like a cheap bum. imo.

but...I am a cheap bum. What are the differences between the two, besides the authentic being of a higher quality?

The number/name fonts on the back aren't even close to being correct. They're a standard block font for all replica jerseys, and sometimes aren't even the same color as the numbers on the authentic.

hmm...well I think I'll splurge and get the authentic. I know once I do I'll rip a hole in it like the first time I wear it too.

Yeah, the replicas just have really plain numbers and letters on the back that often aren't close to the real things. The replicas also have no number on the front of the jersey underneath the team name, and it doesn't have the logos on the sleeves.

More likely to spill something on it. Or you can have the same luck I did... I spent a good chunk of change on a Beltre jersey right when he signed. He was number 5 since Boone had 29. Well the next season Boone left and Beltre changed to 29.. Now I have a players jersey with the wrong number on it.. very uncool.

well I went ahead and got an authentic Brandon Phillips away jersey. I chose away because if I got white, I'd probably spill a bunch of **** on it because I usually am not 100% sober at the games. Last game I came away with beer, nacho cheese, jalapenos and chili from a coney on my shirt but in all fairness, I was too drunk to eat properly in the first place.

Sober or not while buying, you made a good decision. I decided to buy an Andruw Jones replica for $99 a few years back and was horrified when I got it because of the all navy numbers on the back. As someone mentioned earlier, it wasn't even close to the real thing ... and I never wore it ONCE.

Can't you order authentic numbers for a replica jersey? I know I've done that a couple times.

Yeah, I've seen them on ebay for around $20. But then you got to sow them on.

I bought a replica Jays jersey four years ago or so and the numbers/name were the same as the real one. Weird.

Yeah I have a couple Tigers replicas and the numbers appear to be the same or very close to.

sportsdude, last year I went on a bus trip to a Reds game and was hammered. I remember 4 points of the day. 1. The first pitch 2. Ryan Howard hitting a HR and me thinking how much Eric Milton sucks 3. Phillips getting thrown out at the plate 4. Me thinking how great of idea it would be to spend $150 on a Josh Hamilton Jersey. Good thing I didnt get to a 5th point because I would have ended up with a Hamilton jersey who was traded

LOL at everything. No matter what happens, drunk just seems to happen at Reds games.

I went with a friend to see the Reds play the Diamondbacks last year, and we had right field outfield seats. Those seats are awesome because they have their own concession and there's never a line.

Back to the jersey, I hope it comes real soon. I chose standard shipping, maybe Tuesday I'll get it, at least I'm hoping.
