hmm, i think they are talking about this video

    http://forums.operationsports.com/mo...2003xbox/2.wmv

he lined it pretty hard and fast and the ball bounced off the wall, the out seems pretty justified to me

The thing that bothers me about that play is that the runner is Andruw Jones. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't he one of the faster players in the league?

He's not exactly challenged when it comes to running . .

So yes, he is quite the speedy young man.

I dont see how he got thrown out at second in that video, i though for sure he had a stand up double, at the least.

maybe its because of the throwing mechanic. consider this: the videos are on cpu vs. cpu, hence, no throw meter. after watching some videos, there seems to be some time spent with charging the throw meter. the cpu looks to transition to the throw smoothly. the question then arises, how does the computer dictate throwing strength. is it automatically full charged with random errors, or does it go through the same process as the user, but automatically skips the meter transition. this does make me wonder, when playing the computer, or turning the throw meter off in the options for myself, if throws will be balanced. i think the gameplay is structured around the assumption that you will spend an extra few moments charging the throw meter, if not - a weaker, slower throw will result.

what do you think of this explanation? am i out in right field on this one?

I dont know dude. Ive watched that video 5 times and given that:

                      1. The ball bounces a couple times.
                      2. Sosa fields it with his back turned.
                      3. A. Jones is running!
                      4. Sosa's throw is way off line and bounces twice

                      This is terrible, just teriible...

It doesn't matter who the runner is on that ball IMO. Sosa still has a strong arm and it is in wrigley where the wall in right is pretty short, it is also bouncing off a brick wall perfectly to sosa, who turns and throws to the bag. It would have to be an accurate throw, but from the time it took for the ball to get out there, bounce off a brick wall and be thrown back in, the runner would be a sitting duck if he wasn't jones, at least it was close.

Oh well i just watched again, and i am taking back what i said. Jones would have beatin that out, oh well hopefully the running speed will have been fixed and tweaked from the time steve got this, to the time it was shipped, i don't see why it wouldn't have. Also did anyone notice the score in the 7th. 0-0 nice pitching duel, i think i had maybe one or two games on tp that was 0-0 in the 7th. And that was on the tp '98 which in my opinion was the best one.
